Pool Care & Coatings: Your Questions, Answered

What does weekly pool service include?
Every visit, we brush and vacuum the whole pool, net the surface, clean the filters and baskets, and balance your chemistry. We test with our Pool Lab 2.0 mobile lab, a photometer which uses tablet reagents instead of test strips or water reagents, that give the most accurate readings possible so we adjust based on real numbers as accurate as a labratory.

How much does weekly pool service cost in Brevard County?
Our service for an average residential 13,500 to 17,500 gallon pool starts at $160 a month on an annual contract with autopay. That includes the annual UV bulb replacement on a SpectraLight system. Larger pools are priced case by case. Book a free pool audit and we'll give you an exact number.

What is a free pool audit?
It's a free water analysis and pool inspection. We test your water, look over your equipment, and tell you what we find. No pressure.

What is a SpectraLight UV system?
It's a UV-C unit installed in your pool's plumbing. Water passes through it, and the UV light disrupts algae, bacteria, and viruses. According to SpectraLight, it can reduce the chemicals needed to sanitize your pool by up to 90%. We're an authorized SpectraLight dealer, so we install it and service it weekly.

Will a UV system get rid of chlorine smell and red eyes?
Those problems are often caused by chloramines, which form when chlorine reacts with organic matter in the water. SpectraLight UV breaks down chloramines. Results vary by pool, and some chlorine is still needed. We'll explain what to expect for your pool.

Do you serve my neighborhood?
We serve Brevard County, including Viera, Suntree, Melbourne, West Melbourne, Melbourne Beach, Indialantic, Grant-Valkaria, and Malabar. Not sure if you're in our area? Call or text (321) 451-1954.

What kinds of floors do you coat?
Garages, porches, patios, and pool decks, plus walkways and driveways. We use Spartan epoxy with a polyspartic topcoat and decorative flake.

How much does an epoxy garage floor cost?
We price by the square foot, covering materials and labor. We measure, provide a detailed proposal, and you choose your colors, flake, and options. A typical garage runs about $4,000 to $5,000.

How long does a garage floor take?
We’re not a “one-day install” company. A floor that lasts needs proper prep and cure time, so the install takes two consecutive days. Then we come back for a third follow-up visit to make sure you’re 100% satisfied.

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Salty Crew L.L.C. is licensed to work in Brevard County and carries $2 million in general liability insurance.

How do I choose a pool service company in Brevard County?
Ask four things: Are they insured? How do they test the water? Do they put the service terms in writing? And do they show up on a consistent schedule? Salty Crew carries $2 million in general liability insurance, tests with a German Engineered Photometer, The Pool Lab 2.0 mobile lab instead of test strips or time costing water reagents, and is a local, family-owned operation with a lifetime of diverse pool industry knowledge. Book a free pool audit and judge for yourself.

Can epoxy be installed over old concrete or tile?
Concrete is the most common surface we coat. We prepare it first so the coating bonds properly. Tile is a no go, we would remove the tile and prep the concrete surface underneath to make a proper adheasion.
